Today evening was interesting. Had parked my car on FC Road. When I came back ,
had an interesting request by someone who seems to be cleanliness lover. Written on the back glass of the car was “Plz Clean Your Car”. (Earlier i thought someone at FC road had written it, later Harshad G told me that some student in the college had done the same and he had seen it eariler in the day.)

Overall the Car is not so dirty

Riding Solo To The Top Of The World

Riding Solo To The Top Of The World

Yesterday evening had gone to the screening of ‘Riding Solo To the Top Of The world’ By ‘Gaurav Jani’.

I just knew that this was a film by some person who had gone to Ladakah alone one his Bike. I had absolutely no idea what was to come next, though I all excited about the bike ride details etc.

Here are few of the details about where it happened.

6th September 2009

6:30 PM onwards

Kalaprasad Mangal Karyalaya and lodge

(Behind SP College), Pune, Maharashtra India.

The screening of this award winning film was supposed to start at 6:30 PM, but due to outside light we waited for another 15 minutes or so to get dark enough to have a nice viewing environment.

The movie start From Delhi where Gaurav J leaves his home, all geared up for the Journey…. and then its is a complete mesmerizing experience of months of details and experieneces covered by a single man in next 1 and 1/2 hours of screening.

Well if you are expecting me to tell you the details over here… I am sorry i cannot do it in any words… Gaurav has done a truly wonderful work, and I cannot do any justice to it by trying to write it down and explaining his journey with a meager blog entry.

Gaurav This is for you:

Gaurav Jani

Gaurav Jani

“I have seen this particular series on ‘Discovery’ Channel called survivor man, where this preson is dropped in difficult terrains and left with minimal gear and has to survive for next 7 days. I have always seen these kinds of series, though they have been inspirations, but since all these and in foreign land and foreign people, I could never associate myself with it any time.

After have seen your work, I feel really really proud, yes there is potential here and I have found “My Survivor Man” in my country, Hats of to you Gaurav Jani.”

Well after this movie screening it was announced that due to large request they will be screening another movie “One Crazy Ride” again (it was shown one day before). Wow what else would you need, a free movie screening, and then one more announcements the organizers had arranged refreshments for the audience. This only show one thing about my country a true hospitality, It felt great that we were treated at guest and not just audience over there,

My sincere thanks to the organizers for providing the space and refreshments and moreover making us feel at home.

About “One Crazy Ride”. Well this was another 1 and 1/2 hour of breath taking experience, where these five riders (Nicolitta Pereira, Vinod Panicker, Sanjeev Sharma, Gursaurabh Singh Toor and Gaurav Jani) take on the North east Indian state of Arunanchal Pradesh via an uncharted route, i.e non existent on any maps.

Again I will probably do no justice by trying to jot down any of this on my own.

So how do you get you hands on these two movies. Log on to http://DirtTrackProductions.com and get the same. My Request do buy the movies, If you love riding you will love this too.

I would also like to thank the people who are behind editing and creating the nice DVD’s.

Thanks to my friend Amit Agrawal for giving me the info about the screening of the movie and pushing me to come to the same ;)

No more word…

regards

From One Gaurav to Another.

You made me proud.

Toward’s the end of the rainbow

Rainbow

Rainbow

There is a saying, that at the end of the rainbow you can find hidden treasure. Many of us are still persuing the same things in our life. We all know where the real treasures are and where to look for them. we know that the rainbow is an illusion and the treasure out there is a myth, it will be gone as soon as the the light start to play a bit differently.

But did Light ever play differently , well no, light always travels in a straight line, it either stops at the opaque objects in its path or is bent or reflected by the stuff coming in its path.

Light has a simple straight path, we all know that, but we are so busy in our lives looking at all the colors projected by the rain drops in its path that we get immersed looking at those colors, which fade away as soon are the rain is gone. We keep our eyes glued to the rainbow and back of our heads towards the light simply blocking it. Remember light will never take a u turn to get into your eyes, one or the other time U have to turn around and look at the sun directly to see the pure light unseperated by the rain drops.

This is the light which has got all the colors which u had been looking for in a rainbow, and if u look long enough at the light -

U will realize –

” rainbow merely consists of seven colors, the raindrops can just separate in only those colors — but The light has more colors then u have ever thought of.”

Broken Glasses

broken glasses

So what is latest today!!  Broke my glasses!!!

What can be more frustrating then first thing in the morning when you are just about to leave for work and  you end up having your glasses are broken!!!

Yes it happened this morning to me, as soon as I picked my laptop bag from the the carrying belt, some how was loose from one end, zooop came directly towards me… and next thing I could notice is a crack running from top to bottom in my view !!!

well for a few seconds I freaked out… now what this new to my vision… and then it struck me… one of the lenses was broken….

So what reactions came to my mind…

1) Oh (the beep word)

2) Run to the wash basin.. clean eyes… (This becomes next action)

3) Great this had to happen now…

Next had a proper look at the glasses… complete crack running from top to bottom of the right lens… crap… And then from god knows where this thought arises in my head.. this glasses now look like the ‘witwikey’s’  grandfather’s glasses from the Transformers me… Do I have the map to the “All Sparks now” … haha..

Well enough of time was already wasted…  left for work…

Still as usual I could not digest sudden breaking of glasses… as I usually try to keep up with the saying.. whatever happens, happens for good… so the thought kept me hunting.. and suddenly It flashed me… usually I wear my glasses when I get start driving.. today I wore them a bit earlier… If I would not be wearing the glasses today it would had been my right eye ball that would have had popped out of its socket.. the hit was absorbed by the glass..

So that was good.. eye saved.. I needed a eye sight test… so everything now fits..

:)

Coffee Maker – Philips. (or as some know it as dexter’s MP3 player)

June 15th, 2009
Around a year back I got this Phillips coffee maker and  am happy with it. Here are some pics, pros and cons for the same. The coffee make is quite easy to use in itself, and is almost self explanatory. I consists of a chamber (with the filter) which holds the coffee powder, this thing is placed in such a way that it easily swings out like a door. There is a Borosil Jar and that is the part coffee maker itself.

The water area (translucent c shaped are ) is marked nicely with minimum and maximum levels of water, filling it to the minimum level give you once cup of nice black coffee.

The powder holding area also consists of a valve like system, so if you have not place the jug/jar below it while you coffee is being made, or you want to take out the coffee jug in between to pour some coffee, then the coffee does not drip down, it only comes out when the jug is place below it.

The water pours in small shots, or ‘glurgs’ that’s how it sounds…. so you don’t have to worry if you have to take out the jug in between, but don’t keep it out for long if you have put loads of water to loads of coffee. Also the filter area is not too big and you don’t want you coffee to be spilled all over the place.

Almost one big cup of coffee is made if you fill the water chamber is filled to the minimum level. And that is my one time requirement. :D

Interestingly enough the coffee maker comes with its own hot plate (just below the where the jar is kept), so even if you forget that you had placed coffee to brew,  coffee collects into the jar and still remains hot because of the hot plate under it. Of course you have to leave it switched on ;)

So finally this cool coffee maker is one that will give you really nice hot cups of coffee.

So the  this coffee maker:

Pro’s:

  1. Very easy to use.
  2. The color combination is nice, white and lite lilac I think.
  3. To easy to clean… I would say no cleaning will be required if you are going to use it twice or thrice a day.
  4. Hot plate keeps the coffee hot, not just warm.
  5. Fresh coffee is ready in almost 3 to 5 minutes.
  6. If you like tea, you can try putting tea leave, It can be used to make black tea, even though I do not drink tea, I Have made tea once or twice for my parents, they said it tasted better than regular gasr stove tea.

Con’s:

  1. Not meant for making shots, look for some other coffee maker.
  2. The box pack comes with two paper filters only. Could not find any more paper filter anywhere else even with the service center.
  3. You will need to buy the permanent filter form the service center at extremely high cost. (I paid around Rs.280/- (INR) for the same)
  4. The glass jar is really fragile, have to be extra careful while handling it.

Others:

  1. Power Consumption: 650 Watts AC
  2. Capacity 600 ml.

coffee in tug cup Overall this is a nice coffee maker, if you are going for it, keep in mind that you will have to shell out some more money for the permanent filter. Also check before hand if you will get the filter, else you coffee make will end up useless.

And since you have read till this point… you might be curious enough to know why I said that “Some people know it as my MP3 player”. Well I had been planning to buy a portable mp3 player for a very long time, I went with my friend Zoyd to Croma Mall to buy the same, after looking at lots of MP3 player, I bought this coffee maker…
yes just like that.. no second thoughts… :)

Well that’s…
enjoy some coffee…
