I am an Open Source freak… And always talk to people about the same, why open source is similar to daily regular work life.
Recently met one of my friends and some how the topic came up to Mediations, I was interested because I used to meditate myself also. I still do sometimes. Any ways i am not talking about how I meditate here, as my interest was to learn more about the same, so wanted to know what method they follow for the same.
So the discussion was on. The person told me about the place where they got the training/course etc. They follow some — yoga asaana which follows to the meditation. Now to Meditate they are given a “Mantra” chant, which I assume they have to repeat during the process.
Next come the most interesting part, Of course I instantly became interested to know the “Mantra” The person refused to give out the “Mantra” because you can only get it when you attend there course/classes etc.
That moment I remembered one short story which was long back shown on ‘DD’, one disciple goes to his master and ask him for similar info, the master refuses, saying, “One can only gain it after going through certain exercise etc..”.
This disciple first confused agrees to go through the exercise ask the master to give the mantra to him, The master tell him the same but ask him not to disclose it to any one else.
The disciple next moment climbs the tallest possible place in the village and start to shout out the same to every one.
When the master ask him why he has done so… he replies, “Any knowledge which is helpful to society for its betterment and freedom cannot be denied to its people”.
Open source also follows the same philosophy….
That is why when my friend told me about the same, the first thing that cropped into my mind was.. daam.. now we have propitiatory meditation also…
I think I should take up the course at the same place and.. do the same above and free up some knowledge.
I myself and not a follower of any specific group, person etc.. but am open to knowledge…
One of the best quotes about meditation I have read is from Osho,
Dear Friend
Meditation cannot be a fragmented thing. It should be a continuous effort. Every moment one has to be alert, aware and meditative. But the mind has played a trick. You meditate in the morning and then you put it aside. Or you pray in the temple and then forget it. Then you come back to the world, completely unmeditative, unconscious, as if walking in a hypnotic sleep. This fragmented effort won’t do much.
Consciousness is a continuum. It is like a river, flowing constantly. If you are meditative the whole day, every moment of it – and only when you are meditative the whole day – the flowering will come to you.
That all for now.
